INTERNATIONAL REGISTRATION PLAN
The International Registration Plan (IRP)
is a U.S.-based plan that allows for the distribution of registration fees for commercial
motor vehicle traveling inter-jurisdictionally through member states and provinces .
UNIFIED CARRIER REGISTRATION
The UCR Program requires individuals and
companies that operate commercial motor vehicles in interstate or international commerce to
register their business with a UCR participating state and pay an annual fee.
All carriers who transports property or passengers in or through the state of New Mexico have either to apply for a New Mexico Tax ID Permit or they can also buy a single trip permit at a New Mexico Port of Entry.
